Who am I?

The webmaster of this page is Linda Jönsson. Since some years ago I live in Lund, I moved to Lund to begin my studies at the university here in Lund. I am born and raised in a small town called Sölvesborg, who also is in the southern part of Sweden.

Dogs are one of my big interests. Since I have been a little child I also had some friends with four around me. Then I was about two years I started to "ride" one of my grandmother's ponies. I found my uncle's dogs were very interesting! I tried to take them for a walk, but I guess they were taking me for a walk...

Me and ChessMy interest for dogs got bigger then I started to go to obedience classes with my uncle's friend's drever. Because of "Tina", SV-91 Härkilas Åra II, I came in contact with the "dog working club" (in Swedish: Brukshundsklubb) in my town but also shows in conformation. I did take this obedience classes with Tina in hope that she would obey better. Someone told my about shows in conformation, I thought that it would be fun to go to one of those. It showed that Tina was a very good looking dog, and she got her CC's very easy. To get that third and last CC I applied her to the big dog show in Stockholm in December. "As usual" she got the CC and became Best of Breed. During this day she was not happy at all, she had missed one day to hunt deer!!!

1990 I got my first bearded collie. In the spring I called some breeders to get information about their dogs and puppies. At Kjell, Gunilla and Johanna Rydin's home I found my Chess (LP LPII LPELITE SweOTCH DanOTCH Remmen's Noble Duchess)! Chess is a wonderful dog that has learned my incredible much about many things. Through the years she had many successes. Today she is a happy, active retired Beardie! That I remember best during all the years that I showed her are her wins at the Swedish Youth Championships and this times she got her Champion title. Several times she had made Beardie history, one time then she got her Danish Champion title but she was also the first dog in the history of the Swedish Bearded Collie Club to award to Silver Plaque in Versatility.

Then Chess got older I started to look around for a new dog. I wanted to have a new dog while Chess still had the energy to play with the puppy. The spring 1999 had Inger Dahl a litter. In this litter I found my Millie (LPI LPII LPELITE SweOTCH DanCH NorwCH SweCH Highflying Just Like That HIC)! Millie is a very bright and alert dog who Chess plays with every day. Just after her first birthday she made her debut in the obedience class. It went very well, better than I even could imagine! The judge, and other handlers, gave her a lot of praise. She got 184 points of maximum 200 points. The same year we qualified to the Swedish Championships for Youth, and she won the gold medal there! Today she is in the elite class; very recently she got her champion title! Millie was the second Beardie to win the Silver Plaque in Versatility. Of course I am a very proud owner to them both!

April 27th 2003 she gave birth to four puppies, two black bitches and two brown dogs. She is a very proud mother of them all! Babbacombe Chequers was the father to this litter, "Liam" is a really great dog with a wonderful temperament and I am very happy that he became the father! We wish the puppies in their new home GOOD LUCK in the future!

One of this four puppies, Penny - LPI Highflying That's Just Me - stayed at my aunt's house. During 2005 she made her debut in the obedience ring. Her first enter was att the Swedish Bearded Collie Club's Championships. She won her class and became, like the icing of the cake, also Club Champion! At her first three obedience trails she got first prize at them all, she also won tho of these! This year Penny also won the Bronze Plaque in Versatility and became #1

Today is obedience and agility the things I like best to show my dogs in. Then I have time I show them in conformation or in field trial. It is important for me that the Beardie are versatility. One thing doesn't exclude the other, the Beardie should have brain AND beauty.

Below you can see some pictures of me and my dogs. One is then I have Chess and Millie under heel at the same time, another is then Chess became Best in Show in conformation. I don't have a picture of me from an agility event, maybe which is for the best for all of us...
